Episode 1 of Vinyl Noir, The Judas Tapes, drops the needle on our twisted journey through the mythos of rock ’n’ roll. At the center of the mystery is a legendary bootleg: the infamous 1966 Bob Dylan “Judas” concert—an electric moment in music lore, captured live and nearly lost forever.
Enter Jac Verlaine, a burned-out DJ turned record detective, and Lara, the smart-mouthed daughter of bootlegging icon Cosmo Krunch. When Cosmo is found dead—bludgeoned with a microphone—and his priceless Dylan tape is missing, Verlaine is dragged back into a world he thought he’d left behind.
The investigation kicks off in a dusty vinyl shop and spirals quickly into the absurd. We meet Moochie, a junkyard prophet who may or may not think he’s the second coming, and Omby Amby, a shotgun-wielding Munchkin with a candy store fetish and a murderous grudge. Add flying monkeys, secret buyers, and enough rock references to fill a jukebox.
